Here's a lineup of the games I frequently play, all with active communities and awesome mod support. Doom and Quake have a crazy number of mods and total conversions. For Doom, I use Hakros Doom Launcher, where you can download mods and total conversions right in the app, and DoomRunner for Linux. I also enjoy the Fallout series and a bunch of old-school shooters.
